Color as Liberation

My art is a reclamation of color after a lifetime of discipline, conformity, and the quiet survival of immigration. As a Cuban woman and physician, I learned early to mute my brilliance in order to fit in. Now, my work is driven by liberation—the return of joy, play, and the vivid chaos I once suppressed. Each piece is an act of courage and authenticity, a breaking open of old boundaries, and a celebration of the woman I am becoming: expressive, expansive, and unapologetically true.
